So I was just sitting here watching Blue's Clues when I realized it's been a while since I blogged. Since I'm up with a sick child at 4:30 in the morning - what better time to take advanatage of all this free time and throw up a blog before my son throws up on me....again.
Things are going well here in the big picture. We are almost completely unpacked in the new house and getting settled into a routine finally. It's funny how fast a toddler can unpack and destroy a room that you just spent the last hour putting together. But, he is loving his new room and books and toys to play with in his own house. I just have to put away some storage boxes in Ethan's closet and then I can finally park in my garage - WOOHOO! Decorating will be happening this weekend so I will make sure I get some AFTER pictures...since I have been slacking.
It's amazing how much time I don't have anymore with this new house. I think part of it is really just getting adjusted to the change and trying to establish a routine. I was talking with my friend the other day while the kids were playing at the park and we were sharing woes of feeling behind and overwhelmed. She has mentioned she was behind with laundry or something. I told her, I think I'm just behind in life. LOL I hope once I can park in the garage and the pictures are hung - I will feel like it's finally done and I can move on and not be "behind in life" :) Small things - but it makes a difference I think.
As a side note, I don't think there is anything scarier than a child with a high fever. It scares me. I just get worried that I will not be able to get it down, what happens if it gets too high, at what point do I stop being the calm collected comforting parent and start freaking out. This is not the first time Ethan has been sick and no where near as bad as when he was younger and was very ill. But, I don't think it matters how many times your kids are sick - you still worry like it's the first flu/cold they have ever had. Ahhh the joys of parenting :)
I hope you all are doing well and I have enjoyed reading your blogs when I have a free moment. Thanks for being patient with me and my few and far between blogs these days. Perhaps there will be another 4:30 am showing of Blue Clues here soon and I will have more time to write.
CIAO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Confidence Booster........
Yesterday I was busy unpacking and putting things away and cleaning and all that good stuff and Ethan was being his usual distructive self. I would put away all the dvds and he would take them back out... you know the usual back and forth. He came running into me as fast as he could saying MOMMY! MOMMY! MOMMY! and he was carrying a dvd. He said MOMMY WATCH?! I looked and he was holding the moving Sweet Home Alabama with Reese Witherspoon. Odd selection for a 2 year old, but I thought I would endulge him for the moment. I asked if he wanted to watch it and he say "Uh-Huh!". I asked again and asked why this time. He opened the dvd case and pointed to the dvd that had a big picture of Reese Witherspoon's face and he said "MOMMY!" I asked who that was in the picture, just to make sure I wasn't being full of myself and he said MOMMY! He repeated it several times and then proceded to insist we watch it. He only watched the first 15 minutes or so, but everytime she came on the screen he would scream MOMMY!
...........Yesterday was a great day........ hahaha

Happy Memorial Day!
Well it's been a while since I have been able to get on here and blog ... things have been so busy with the new house and work and of course the baby!
Things are going fairly smoothly with the house... a few set backs - but we are almost there! I stopped by this afternoon and the bathroom is almost done - it looks so great! The paint makes the whole place look completely different. I can't wait to see the new carpet in there, it's going to look great! I can't wait to move in.....just a week or so!
This weekend was really busy, but I had fun hanging out with the little boy on my days off. Monday was pretty hot and sticky here so we busted out the slip n slide.....

Flat Tires and Poop.......
Have you ever had one of those days that everything just keeps going wrong...but at the end of the day you just have to laugh about it?! That was today...
Work started out to be crazy....as usual.... the phones were ringing like crazy, I had way too much to do and was getting nothing done... and then one of the guys came up to tell me I have a flat tire. I have never had a flat tire...what the heck? So I went to go check and sure enough, flat as a pancake sitting on the rim. I hadn't been at work too long and I'm POSITIVE it wasn't like that when I was driving to work. The guys in delivery were nice enough to put on my spare and I eventually was able to have one of the other girls follow me over to Discount Tire to drop off my car. I came back to work and of course was thrown back into the whirl wind that is event planning and before I knew it, it was almost 5...still didn't do 1/2 the stuff I needed to and no one had called me to tell me what was going on with my tire! I called the tire place fo them to tell me... there was no leak?!?!?! Long story...but apparently the little cap on the thing where you fill up the tire (can you tell I know a lot about cars???) which shows me if my tire is low on air....i guess it sometimes it cracks and lets air out.... hmmmm - seems suspicious...but I'll go with it. My saintly mother was nice enough to pick both me and my son up and take us over to the tire place to pick up my car. We got the car...no charge thank goodness. I finally get Ethan home and get him some sort of dinner and get him in the bath, even though it's only 6:30 ... maybe he will want to go to bed early :) - I can hope right???? So we are in the bath tub and Ethan gets the potty look ---- and all you mothers know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. I ask him "do you have to go poopies?" he says "no mommy" and then bam.... takes a crap right there in the bath tub. I pulled him out of the tub and stood there comtemplating how long I could avoid cleaning this one up. I realized that wasn't going to be very long and so I went in. I was gagging because...it's disgusting and Ethan was laughing and copying me... REAL cute. I finally get the nastiness cleaned up and get Ethan ready for bed. He has been really refusing going to bed lately so it was kind of a chore, but I got him to lay down with his blankie. I get down stairs only to hear my brother scream "MOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" from upstairs and then next I hear Ethan start crying......... nice.... so by 9 pm I finally got Ethan to bed....an hour past his bed time. I then proceded to eat 2 bowls of Captain Crunch ... LOL ... Stressed much????
Wow...that was really long... but as I am writing this... I'm laughing at myself. Because it's funny...sucked at the time...but it's funny. Glad today is almost over ..........................
